Let's start with your professional story!

1. Can you tell us a bit about your career journey?

   I originally wanted to become a solicitor, but university wasn’t an option financially. So I jumped into the workforce at 16 and started as an Office Junior in a recruitment agency in Aberdeen, Scotland. Later, I set my sights on joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (think spy and travel, not office admin), but then I met my husband and found myself in accounting instead. Funny enough, I always hated maths but loved accounting.

2. What led you to Taylor Made Sales?

   I’m an Accountant with Spark CFO, and we handle the bookkeeping for Taylor Made Sales.

   
   

3. What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

   Helping business owners by taking care of the financials so they can focus on what they do best. There’s real satisfaction in knowing your strengths are making someone else’s job easier. 🫶

   
   

4. If you could give career advice to your younger self, what would it be?

   You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just don’t let anyone else decide for you. Take the wheel and make life your own.😉

1. If my life were a movie or TV show, it would be…

   Death in Paradise,  but only if I’m the detective living the dream on a gorgeous Caribbean island, not one of the murder victims! 💀

   
   

2. If I could launch my own business tomorrow, it would be…

   A Cat Café. Tea, cake, and rescue cats all in one happy place. 😺

   
   

3. My go-to pump-up song before a big meeting is…

   I Love Rock ’N Roll by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. It’s loud, it’s bold, and it gets me ready to take on anything.

   
   

4. If my life had a tagline, it would be…

   Be yourself. There is nobody better. 💅

   
   

5. Coffee, tea, or something stronger? (Bonus: How do you take it?)

   Definitely more tea than coffee. But being Scottish, almost anything alcoholic. A cold pint of Guinness, please and thank you. 🍻

   
   

6. If we had a Taylor Made Sales talent show, my hidden talent would be…

   Carrying every single shopping bag in one go from the car to the building. 💪

Reflections on Your Career

Your take on work, growth, and the future!

1. What’s a memorable moment in your career that stands out?

   I worked for a North Sea Helicopter Operator and got to go offshore in one of the helicopters to an oil rig in the middle of the North Sea. I was allowed to sit in the jump seat with the pilots which was amazing!🚁

   
   

   Unfortunately, when getting back in the chopper, I knocked one of the many switches with my bulky survival suit and caused a Master Alarm situation that delayed take off by 15 minutes. Oops. I was not allowed to leave the Finance office again. 😅

   
   

2. What’s one thing you’ve learned in your career that you wish more people knew?

   If you don’t value your own skills and talent, nobody else will.🫂

   
   

3. If Taylor Made Sales had an official playlist, which song must be on it?

   18 Til I Die by Bryan Adams. It’s fun, carefree and full of spirit.

Alter Ego: The Teleporting Superhero

No more traffic. No airport queues. Diane’s dream alter ego is a superhero with the power to teleport. One blink and she’s at the beach, in the office or wherever she wants to be!

It’s all about ease, freedom and skipping the unnecessary. Just like how she handles the books: smooth, efficient and always on point.

Fun fact: Diane loves to hike...bonus points if there’s a cat café at the end!
